PLOUK 22
«When I came back from Berlin now a good twenty years ago,
after negotiations about a possible album deal for what should have been my first album issued as a double 12" vinyl record,
while on the way back sitting in the plane from Tempelhof Berlin, the now defunct legendary airport in the middle of the city, to Zurich,
it was already clear to me that the negotiations had gloriously failed.
My experiences with another label had been so terribly bad that I might have been still under severe stress from that,
but to be fair, I was also a young asshole.
My tactical thinking was very bad and I should have buried my pride and go along with the deal, even though I had a really bad feeling about it, my career would have been very different.
I arrived at home and just a few days later, we were sitting in front of the telly and we knew something had changed. It was the weekend of 9-11.
That this album, what can certainly be declared my main musical project up to that time, crash landed in such synchronicity with everything around "western world" at that time is just a hilarious coincidence. That it now took the next big shakeup, the pandemic of whatever it might be, to actually bring forth the long time overdue follow-up, can be considered just as humorous, in a cosmic sense.
I am in tears, tears of joy that is.
The new EP follows the typical hollywoodian well proven dramaturgy of "start with a bang, let go a little and tighten up again for several times, and finish with a highlight".
My guest on track 1 and 2 is Dmitri Shostakovich,
tracks 3 to 5 are guest starring Grazyna Bacewicz.
The other very important inspiration for this new installment that I would love to mention is the divine hermaphrodite Drexciya.
I only discovered their body of work recently, which is of course unforgivable, but I am now really catching up, better late than never, I hope you can feel it too.
Once again I would love to dedicate this work to Stanislav Grof who just had his 90th birthday, all the love in the world. Everybody should read his new masterpiece "The Way of the Psychonaut", very essential.
I hereby promise that there is a lot to follow, this is only the beginning, a fresh start, finally after a good 20 years;
"UNCHAINED"!»
