The new transmission from recently travelled Zwischenwelten,
Hector M. Reis sends some more Near-Death Ambient signals.

First we enter the FORUM, the bazaar.
A lot there to discover in John Difools native city,
negotiations are happening, a lot of social interaction too.
We are quite new here and a bit scared of everything around.

Then we inspect a few APSIDATAE, some niches
from where we have a nice view towards the spaceports.
Shuttles of all sizes are coming in,
doing their business, then getting out again.
On the side a few children are playing with some concrete seagulls.

Later we join those kids for a trip to the CIRCUS which just came to town yesterday.

POSTICA then takes us back to the backyards
for an afternoon ball game and a few arguments,
some minor fights too.

Still there is no quantized midi sequencing.
On CIRCUS there is a loop, but that's about it for fixed grid.

Roman Architecture 2 rewards multiple listens
with coalgulating somewhat into something
that is between a song and a performance.

I've been captivated by the wild sounds emanating from Lisbon's ghetto house scene since I first heard Nidia Minaj's unhinged "Danger" EP and this latest outing from DJ Marfox is yet another absolute corker from pioneering Portuguese label Principe. It's been noted elsewhere that the influence of genres like techno have begun to creep into Lisbon's usual stew of kuduro, batida and tarraxo but when the music remains as untamed as that served up on "Chapa Quente", who the fuck cares?
